1. Make the permitting process
more transparent by putting clear explanations of expectations on the town web
site to eliminate confusion between departments and the developer.
2. Work with landlords to provide incentives for empty office spaces downtown
– there are currently 26 offices available for lease downtown.
3. I feel that Chapel Hill could borrow from Durham’s approach to supporting
the Arts through an Artist Cooperative like the Golden Belt. I feel that Chapel
Hill would benefit from a stronger emphasis on cultural tourism.
