    Ambassadors

    Ambassadors are volunteers who build relationships with our Chamber’s newest members, facilitate networking among members, and encourage meaningful participation and involvement in Chamber programs. Ambassadors attend monthly meetings, accept new member assignments at each meeting, conduct introductory new member interviews in-person or over the phone, and maintain monthly contact – via email or phone - with their assignments for one year.     Lights, camera, advocacy! - Monthly

    A monthly forum where members can come learn about economic development, land use and public policy issues important to the business community.  Featuring elected officials and other top decision makers as speakers, this 1.5 hour program is open to any employee of a Chamber member and is hosted and presented by Silverspot Cinema, located at University Place.     Non-Profit Roundtable- Monthly

    Presented by Carolina National Insurance Agency and powered by Executive Service Corps, this is networking and education for non-profits, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. or 4-5:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month

    Retail Roundtable

    Networking and education for retailers, from 7:30-8:45 a.m. on the third Tuesday of every other month at a Chamber member retail location. Contact Nicholas Johnson at njohnson@carolinachamber.org for more information.

    Taking Care of Business Forum - Monthly

    Networking and education for small businesses, from 11:30 a.m-1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month; except April, August and December when it is 5:30-7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month.     Chapel Hill Young Professionals-Monthly 

    The Chapel Hill Young Professionals (CHYP) serves members ages 40 and under. Networking events are held monthly, and one event each quarter includes educa­tional programming. CHYP nurtures our youngest members to enhance their professional development and build active community members. Annual CHYP membership dues are prorated starting at $100 for Chamber members; $150 for non-members or $15/event. Contact Nick Johnson at njohnson@carolinachamber.org to learn more.

    Annual Meeting - Feb. 2, 2017

    More than 380 Chamber members, elected officials and guests attend the Chamber’s Annual Meeting to celebrate the successes of our business community in 2016, and get a preview of the exciting developments for 2017.     Leadership Chapel Hill-Carrboro - Spring-Fall 2017

    Leadership is designed to ensure a continual pool of talent for our community over the course of several months beginning in April. For one full day on the first Thursday of the month, 20-30 participants learn about social, cultural, political, and economic fac­ets of our community from today’s leaders. Team building and leadership skills curriculum is includ­ed, taught by local experts.     Business Excellence Awards - May 19, 2017

    This awards ceremony is to the honor the best in business! The Chamber awards over a dozen exceptional businesses and leaders for their great achievements in the greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro business community in 2016 at a dazzling red carpet awards ceremony complete with a cocktail reception, awards ceremony and entertainment, followed by an after-party. 

    Bocce Derby - April 20, 2017

    This fun-filled tournament draws 55 two-player teams and more than 80 spectators annually. Bocce players enjoy a round-robin format tournament, refresh­ments throughout the tournament in addition to dinner, a post-tournament reception, awards for tournament winners and winners of various contests. Bocce is a fundraiser for the Chamber’s 501(c)(3) community and economic development organization, the Partnership for a Sustainable Community.

    CEO Summit 

    The CEO Summit is an invitation-only, biannual network­ing and discussion forum for local executives. This luncheon event provides area CEOs the unique opportunity to meet, form peer relationships and discuss common business concerns. The CEO Sum­mit includes lunch for 30-40 executives.

    State of the Community Report & Conference – Sept. 28 & 29

    Born out of graduate student research at UNC, this briefing looks at Social, Environmental and Economic Indicators about the health of our com­munity. The Briefing delivers relevant information to more than 250 community and business leaders over a full, seated breakfast. Attendees can expect to gain a comprehensive overview of the health of our community, including areas where we are thriving and areas to be improved. Chamber President and CEO Aaron Nelson will present the report and take questions from attendees.  The mini conference will be a great opportunity to learn more about our community and talk to peers about working together on the best path forward. The State of the Community Report is a program of the Chamber’s 501(c)(3) community and economic development organization, the Partnership for a Sustainable Community.

    Performance Golf Classic 

    This day-long tournament traditionally draws 100 golfers. Golfers enjoy 18 holes in a "captain's choice" format. Player packages include breakfast, lunch, post-tournament reception with awards presentation and a raffle, and refreshments throughout the day.

    PRIMETIME Business Expo

    Chapel Hill’s largest Business Expo, Primetime, is hosted by our Chamber and features over 80 displays from Chamber member and non-member businesses.

    Local Government Appreciation Reception- Dec. 14, 2017

    This appreciation reception offers an opportunity to meet informally with and show the business community's gratitude toward elected officials from Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Orange County and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, in addition to local government senior staff.

    Salute to Community Heroes- Dec. 14, 2017

    Each December at a festive after hours event, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber recognizes the men and women who are committed to making Chapel Hill-Carrboro a thriving, healthy and sustainable community. The event is free to attend and open to the public. No registration required.  Refreshments are provided.

    Inter-City Visit and Leadership Conference - 2018

    Through the Inter-City Visit and Leadership Con­ference, your Chamber’s charitable Partnership for a Sustainable Community convenes leaders of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community to learn from the experiences of another community, to better understand our community’s assets, and to build relationships among participants that help us suc­cessfully address our local challenges and opportu­nities. Diverse leaders from across our community including local business owners and managers, elected officials, university leaders, non-profit leaders, municipal and county staff, and commu­nity members participate in the Inter-City Visit. All members of our community are welcome and encouraged to participate. The Inter-City Visit is a program of the Chamber’s 501(c)(3) community and economic development organization, the Partnership for a Sustainable Community. Learn more.

    Board Retreat and Planning Conference – 2017

    During the annual strategic planning conference of the Board of Directors, Board members and staff meet for a dinner session followed by a full day of work. The Board is led through facilitated discus­sions of short and long-term objectives and the future of the Chamber. Both incoming and retiring Board members are invited to attend. The Board of Directors is made up of 32 leaders across various industries within the Chapel Hill-Carrboro com­munity.
