Winston-Salem, NC – The successful rebranding of the Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce to The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro – complete with new name, tagline, and logo – earned the 2019 Communications Excellence Award from the Carolinas Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (CACCE). The award recognizes the most outstanding communications campaign by a chamber of commerce throughout North and South Carolina.

“We are so excited to receive this prestigious award from CACCE,” said Chamber President and CEO, Aaron Nelson. “Our 1,000 members have a big vision for our shared path ahead. Thanks to our member, Rivers Agency, this contemporary new brand reflects our vision and captures our collective warmth, strength, and effectiveness.”

Fast Facts on the New Brand
    • Name & Tagline: The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro

    • Logo: Central circle surrounded by a series of concentric C shapes, which represents The Chamber's home as Chapel Hill and its work radiating out into the greater community (Carrboro, Orange County, Chatham and beyond).

To create the new brand, The Chamber worked in partnership with the Rivers Agency – a full-service integrated marketing firm based in Chapel Hill with world class clients including Bausch & Lomb and CREE. The process included more than a year of board retreats, membership surveys, and discussions with key stakeholders, as well as consideration of more than two dozen creative concepts. The Chamber Board and staff selected and introduced the new brand to the full membership at the 2019 Annual Meeting with an exciting 45-second video and further promoted it in a press release.

CACCE Communication Award Entries were judged based on originality, design and quality, and results achieved. The entries reflected communication efforts taken or completed during the past 18 months. The award was presented yesterday during the CACCE Staff Leadership Development Conference at the Marriott in Winston-Salem, NC.
