Chamber Offers Green Plus Scholarships
The Chamber will provide scholarships to members for Green Plus, a national sustainability education, networking, and certification program that was conceived in Chapel Hill. In offering these scholarships, the Chamber joins Duke Energy, the Park Foundation, and other sponsors in their efforts to make sure smaller North Carolina employers can take advantage of Green Plus.
Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber members interested in applying should go to
gogreenplus.org Green Plus staff will confirm chamber membership and activate Green Plus accounts within five business days. Green Plus serves small and medium-sized employers, which is defined as 500 or fewer employees. The deadline for applying for a scholarship is March 31, 2012.
Chamber Announces Business of the Year Award Winners
January 26, 2012 — The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce announced the 2011 Business of the Year award winners Jan. 24 at its Annual Meeting held at the Sheraton Hotel in Chapel Hill. “These enterprises are recognized as outstanding Chamber member businesses that have shown growth, innovation of product, exemplary customer service, response to adversity, and contribution to the community,” said Aaron Nelson, Chamber President and CEO.

Our Local Deal sends daily emailed discounts offered by local businesses. The program is very similar to Groupon and LivingSocial except for our local community and is organized by our local Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce in partnership with 1360 WCHL.
